What's the Sound of One Baby Clapping?

A story about the claps and waves her hands milestone, recorded Mar 11, 2009

After feeding Sasha this afternoon, one of her teachers gathered all the babies around for story time.  One of the babies started clapping, and we tried to get Sasha to follow suit, without much luck.

I then went back up to my desk, and before I even reached it her teacher called me.  "She clapped once just after you left."

"Figures," I said. But I'm sure there will be much more applause in the months and years to come.

Sasha will shun bananas and applesauce, but loves the Beech-nut oatmeal baby cereal. She lunges for the spoon when we feed it to her. She'll also eat it if it's mixed with sweet potatoes, but she's less fond of that.

For Hanukkah, we borrowed a book called "Hanukkah Cat" from the library. It had eight chapters, one for every night of Hanukkah. Sammy was almost as excited to read each chapter as he was to light the candles and get the present for that night.
